This year an unprecedented SEVEN tastings of fine Irish and Scotch Whiskeys!
Jameson Irish Whiskey
Produced at the Midleton Distillery, Jameson is Ireland’s quintessential Irish blend, a classic. Jim Murray even awarded it an incredible 95 points!
Jameson Irish Whiskey “Black Barrel”
AKA Small Batch – a super release from Jameson, with a high proportion of Irish pot still whiskey as well as small batch grain. The result is an increased body and level of richness when compared to the core expression. It’s aged in double charred first fill bourbon casks (black barrels).
Jameson Irish Whiskey “Caskmate’s Stout Edition”
Jameson Caskmates is an intriguing release. Having sent some of their casks to the local craft stout brewers at Franciscan Well, the casks were returned to Midleton where they were subsequently used to give a stout finish to Jameson!
Redbreast 12 Yr Irish Whiskey
A delightful Pure Pot Still Irish whiskey, Redbreast 12 is highly praised by Jim Murray and a host of other notable whisky critics. Named ‘Overall Irish Whiskey of the Year’ at the 2013 Irish Whiskey Awards, we can’t get enough of it.
Midleton Very Rare Irish Whiskey
It’s the 2016 edition of the annually-released Midleton Very Rare, an annually-awesome Irish blended whiskey from the eponymous distillery. This was drawn exclusively from American oak barrels selected by Master Distiller Brian Nation. One of Irelands most sought after bottlings.
Aberlour 12 Yr Old Non-Chill Filtered Scotch Whisky
No whisky was chill filtered in the making of this Aberlour, keeping all the flavor from the cask in the whisky, not the filter. It is a 12 year old expression of Highland single malt Scotch whisky with an absolutely gorgeous amber hue, radiant like the sun.
Glenlivet “Nadurra” Peated Whisky Cask Finish
A special release Cask Edition Glenlivet. Matured in first-fill ex-bourbon casks before a finishing period in casks that previously held heavily peated (Speyside peat) Scotch Whisky.
